Portfolio Recovery Associates is a twelve year old, publicly traded company (NASDAQ-PRAA) that purchases and manages portfolios of defaulted consumer receivables and provides a broad range of accounts receivable management services. We are currently recruiting for a Database Developer, to join our corporate team located in Norfolk (Virginia Beach), Virginia.
The successful applicant will perform maintenance coding on custom developed applications, develop new applications to support business needs, meet established deadlines and requirements, and assist in requirements gathering, coding, change management, documentation, training, and testing.
We’re looking for a professional that has demonstrated experience in requirements analysis, planning, design, coding, deployment, maintenance, optimization and documentation of database applications in a multi-tier, distributed enterprise computing environment. This professional will also manage the analysis and enhancement of existing modules and set-up of new modules. They will also add new sites including the detailed description of user needs, program functions and steps required to develop or modify current software systems.
Qualifications for this position include a minimum of three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Applicants should have an advanced level of understanding in the functionality of developing software utilizing SQL Server, and Oracle 9i/10g expertise in a Windows NT/2000 environment. Applicants must also have the ability to understand and assess existing software systems environment and configuration in order to recommend and implement improvements and manage the analysis and enhancement of existing modules, setup of new software modules and the addition of new sites based on expansion.
