This is a direct client in Weehawken NJ. The position status is open to consulting, perm or right to hire depending on your preference.
the client's IA department is expanding its responsibilities to include the definition and development of Data Services, and is seeking a Data Services Architect to execute this initiative.
The successful applicant will have the following responsibilities:
Develop Enterprise Data Service definitions and mentor individual application teams on implementing these services. Services will execute across a Java/DB2 application stack and integrate to a Tibco BPM environment.
Identify authoritative sources of information corresponding to the enterprise information model. Extend the enterprise information model as needed.
Document data feeds and APIs to and from major data repositories.
Create roadmaps to enable consumers of obsolete systems to migrate to Enterprise Data Services.
Review findings with other architects and with system owners.
Manage documentation and metadata relating to authoritative data sources.
Perform other information architecture-related tasks as needed to support the firm's data rationalization and information architecture initiatives.
Required background.
Bachelor�s degree or higher
Ten or more years experience in IT in at least two disciples, at least five years of which are experience in information/data management.
Experience supporting enterprise-level service-based implementations.
Knowledge of Web Services, SOAP, XML and XSD.
Experience in the securities and financial services industries.
Familiarity with entity-relationship data modeling.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to analyze COBOL, DB2, JCL, DFSORT and other mainframe processing.
Ability to analyze CICS transactions and DB2 stored procedures.
