Controller - Technology Finance

Major Oak Consulting, a boutique Management Consulting firm based in NJ, is actively sourcing a Temp to Perm position for our client, a Fortune 500 Financial Services leader to serve as a Controller in the Technology organization.  In this role you will provide reporting, planning, budgeting, financial analysis, support and leadership to the Technology organization and their internal business unit customers. The position involves a temporary role with Major Oak for 2 to 3 months with an opportunity to convert to a full time employee of the client at the end of the temporary period.

The following prior job Experience is required: The ideal candidate will have 10-15 years experience in Finance in the Insurance or Financial Services industry, most recently in a controllership capacityAt least 5 years experience in technology or technology finance and the business of insurance or financial services of a Fortune 500 companyExperience with maintaining an organization’s books and records including budgeting, monthly close, reporting, etc. Development and delivery of executive level materials and presentations Project Management Project portfolio management including project accounting, project costing, cost allocation and reportingAudit and Process Improvement experience are a significant plus

Specific skill requirements include: Superior communication skills, both written and verbalFinancial analysis and modeling including the use of appropriate tools such as Excel and AccessExcellent understanding of business and technology concepts and processesDemonstrated ability to navigate successfully in complex, fast paced environmentsDemonstrated experience in budgeting, forecasting, monthly / annual financial close processes and related accounting activitiesDemonstrated ability to identify and implement process improvementsSuperior relationship building and team work skillsAbility to identify financial implications related to business and technology plans and events and to affect appropriate outcomes The ability to influence and readily adapt to change

Education - Masters Degree in Finance and/or CPA designation preferred

Travel - Candidate must be able to travel approximately 20% of the time, primarily within the New York and New Jersey area.
