Our expanding subsidiary of our international financial services institution is seeking a Senior Manager. This is an outstanding opportunity to be associated with a world class institution offering prestigious name affiliation and gain experience in the financial services field.
This position reports to the COO of the CUSO. Reporting to this position are two Investment Centre Managers, the Insurance Centre Manager, the DC Financial Services Manager and the CUS Financial Analyst.
The functional programs, management processes and systems supported by the Senior Manager are critical to the overall organizational effectiveness and quality of member service provided by UNFCU. With ever-changing economic, social, demographic, environmental and regulatory patterns and competitive marketplaces, the incumbent is challenged to stay abreast of the latest techniques, philosophies and disciplines in the delivery of financial and retirement advisory services and management of the credit union’s CUSO resources.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
Ø Plans, organizes, directs, manages, oversees, integrates and evaluates the credit union’s Financial Services corporation operations, activities, staff and results.
Ø Direct the business development activities related to growth of all UNFCU Financial Services activities.
ØEstablish and nurture business relationships with key UN Contacts and various strategic partners. Conduct business development presentations to targeted member groups and to outside organizations to build revenue and produce net income.
ØPromote and facilitate a strong service and sales environment consistent with that of UNFCU and the CUSO.
ØWork with COO to research and recommend new product and service offerings, and effectively coordinate implementation with UNFCU support departments and outside vendors.
Ø Research and review competitors’ offerings and negotiate relationships that are in the best interests of UNFCU/CUSO and its clients.
Ø Provide COO, executive management and CUSO BOD with timely and accurate financial and activity reports. Ensure CUSO Board Package is issued accurately and in advance of meeting.
Ø Work closely with COO to prepare budgets and business plans.
Ø Work with individual business line managers to set goals for their respective business lines consistent with CUSO and corporate objectives.
Ø Establish, review, and modify policies, procedures, and controls. Monitor the activities of the CUSO and Investment services offered through UNFCU to ensure compliance with applicable securities regulations domestically and internationally to minimize regulatory risk to the CUSO and UNFCU.
Ø Maintain awareness of developments in the CUSO industry and the financial services industry globally. Monitor regulatory trends and developments.
Ø Responsible for planning and implementing marketing activities in conjunction with UNFCU Marketing Department.
Ø Interview, select, monitor, coach and evaluate new employees and ensure their proper training, coaching, and development. Maintain a challenging and rewarding environment for the staff.
Ø Identify high potential client groups outside the UNFCU membership; develop and utilize marketing channels. Research and implement methods and processes to enhance availability of products and services to international markets, and to efficiently administer them.
Ø Perform any other functions as directed by the COO.
DESIRED COMPETENCIES AND EXPERIENCE
An incumbent in this position must possess five years experience in a senior management/executive role. Financial industry experience with exposure to investment and insurance industries.
A typical way of obtaining the knowledge, skills and abilities required for this position is through obtaining a Bachelor’s degree in a business field or equivalent work experience. Excellent oral and written communications and professional presentation skills. Excellent computer/PC proficiency. Advanced degrees such as MBA, CPA, JD or CFP. Fluency in Spanish is a plus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
An incumbent works under standard office conditions.
In addition to any specific job requirements in connection with Bank Secrecy Act and/or OFAC (BSA), employee must (i) be aware of BSA matters commensurate with the position; (ii) report any suspicious activity to the manager or compliance department; and (iii) satisfactorily complete any required BSA training
