COBOL Developer

Interactive Business Systems, Inc. (IBS) has partnered with a client in the Batesville, IN. area to identify a COBOL Developer for a 3 month contract opening!

This position is responsible for developing financial applications running on the Ingenium - Pathfinder Platform, including coding, testing, and defect resolution. Requires working closely with business users, project managers, third-party vendors, and developers to support and implement new functionality and enhancements to production applications. Works closely with project management to establish deadlines for completion of projects and create technical specifications documentation, as well as provide formal project communication to management.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
-As part of the development team, the Programmer / Analyst will be responsible for creating applications using COBOL, HTML, and CICS. The developer will participate in the 24x7 production support on-call rotation. This position requires the ability to work effectively as a member of a team with tight deadlines, multiple projects, and evolving requirements. The position also requires the ability to design and code with respect to the required technical specification and to integrate with web applications.

-Candidates must be familiar with software design, implementation, and maintenance. A demonstrated proficiency in all phases of systems development life cycle, from requirements analysis, design, development, testing, deployment and support, is essential.


REQUIREMENTS:
-Must have a minimum of 5 years experience with CICS, DB2, Cobol, JCL, and SQL.
-Must have a minimum of 5 years experience with TSO/ISPF.
-Must have a minimum of 2 years experience using HTML, and JavaScript.
-Must have experience with a version control system such as Changeman ZMF and Changeman DS.
-Service Oriented Architecture, Straight Through Processing, and Web Services experience a plus.
-Experience with Ingenium Pathfinder, Informatica, and Cognos preferred.
-Must have experience working in a multi-developer environment.
-Must have experience in all phases of System Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
-Must have demonstrated experience integrating information and functionality from multiple systems/architectures including Mainframe, Web, and Client Server.
-Must have the ability to interact with customers independently, including the ability to route/escalate decisions/questions to the appropriate owner.
-Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
-Strong analytical, organizational and problem solving skills.
-AFP, OGL, Streamweaver experience is a plus.
-Financial Services experience is a plus.
