Documents business processes, develops design and functional specifications, and produces deliverables related to projects assigned. The Business Systems Analyst works closely with customers, business representatives, and other project team members to understand business, design and functional requirements that drive quality technical solutions. The Business Systems Analyst communicates requirements to project team members verbally and in the form of written and electronic documentation. This documentation consists of items such as requirement statements, activity diagrams, use cases, user interface specifications, output specifications and similar items. Business System analysts are challenged to develop and maintain credibility and effective working relations with both customer management and IT personnel in a way that demonstrates an understanding of business problems, as well as IT strategies, issues, and priorities. These are individuals who are forward thinking and seek opportunities to apply technology to improving business processes within strategic system goalsQualifications• Advanced interviewing skills • Ability to capture customer requests and develop conceptual solutions through the use of UML modeling and various prototyping methods. • Ability to capture existing processes and proposed functionality in Activity Diagrams, and Use Cases• Ability to analyze and formulate solutions to moderately complex business and system problems • Ability to assist in the creation of test cases based on analysis documentation • Ability to create and modify UML diagrams and models• Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Capable of working on multiple projects simultaneously • Ability to prioritize and manage tasks • Ability to work effectively alone and in a team environment • Ability to work with a geographically dispersed team and customer base. • Capability to set and manage customer expectations • Ability to create Solution Presentations & Prototypes, Business Cases, and Functional Specifications • Expert knowledge of MS Word, and Excel • Experience utilizing Enterprise Architect or other UML Modeling tool• Working knowledge of PowerPoint, Visio and Photoshop • Experience working in an Agile (SCRUM) environment• Industry experience preferred .The First American Corporation is an Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
