Budget & Logistics Manager

General Description:

Under the general supervision of the Sheriff and Undersheriff, this position performs a variety of complex and specialized duties to facilitate the daily financial and administrative operations of the Agency.

 

Essential Job Duties:

*Assists the Sheriff and all members of the command staff in budget, facilities and administrative functions of the Agency.
*Supervises, plans, coordinates and reviews the work of, and trains subordinate personnel.
*Coordinates, assembles and assists others with preparation of the annual Agency budget.
*Performs budget-planning liaison with County Administrative personnel.
*Manages all accounting and payroll functions for the Agency.
*Monitors and audits various Agency funds.
*Participates as a member of Sheriff's Executive Staff.
*Closely monitors budget performance throughout the year and makes budget adjustments as needed.
*Makes cost benefit analysis to facilitate long range planning and Agency fixed asset purchases.
*Reviews all proposed expenditures, purchases and supply orders, taking action to facilitate and expedite all transactions. Writes and evaluates Requests for Proposals.
*Represents the Agency at budget and finance related meetings and committees.
*Prepares a variety of reports, tabular and narrative, as required.
*Performs internal audits.
*Administers Agency contracts including development and negotiation of contracts and obtains approvals.
*Writes grants pertaining to financial information and monitors and prepares reports relating to grants.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: A Bachelors degree in Accounting, Management, Finance, Personnel or a closely related field.
EXPERIENCE: Five (5) years experience in a directly subordinate position or two (2) years in a directly related, or similar, position.  OR Any equivalent combination of education and experience that satisfy the requirements of the job.
