Borrower Information Specialist
Job Description:
The Borrower Information Specialist is responsible for advising borrowers of their repayment options with the objective of preventing delinquency which may lead to default. The Borrower Information Specialist executes borrower contact in support of custom communication campaigns that are focused on information dissemination and repayment education. The communication campaigns are targeted towards borrowers who meet specific conditions and/or to support ASA’s industry partners. Within a call center environment, the Borrower Information Specialist also provide telephone counseling and written responses to successfully resolve borrower concerns.
Essential Functions:
1.Handle telephone or written contact with targeted borrowers to provide advice on repayment options and to help the borrower keep their loan in good standing status for the long-term.
2.Manage campaign case load assignments within Borrower Services performance requirements including timely and accurate follow-up with an individual borrower.
3.Maintain borrower data integrity and campaign statistics by verifying and updating records accurately and efficiently.
4.Meet individual performance goals, and contribute to team and department performance and revenue goals.
5.Support other Borrower Services department telephone queues as needed. Assist with troubleshooting accounts and servicing borrowers.
6.Provide recommendations, and identify trends or behaviors related to communication with borrowers that may be utilized to alter or enhance outreach efforts and prevent delinquency.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent work experience.
2. 1+ years experience in a high volume call center environment; financial services or higher education industry experience a plus.
3. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; experience with Access a plus.
