Description:The exceptions associate is responsible for accurately process account exceptions, returned checks, return check rejects and letters, account lookups, adjustments, data entry and printing reports as required by client deadlines. Individual must be highly efficient to maximize processing and control holdover. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assist in the training of exceptions, payment resolution, adjustments, research and data entry functions; provide necessary backup for data entry, and mail opening functions as required, not to interfere with exceptions deadlines; assist process lead as require; responsible for managing and logging incoming exceptions mail, bank documents, and daily holdover; distributes, collects, bundles and directs payments for completion to Image Processing; monitors and sorts mail processing types and same day timeliness transactions to ensure adequate and sequential processing procedures are maintained; keep abreast of client requirements and process changes to avoid quality impacts; open communication with Supervisors, Process Leads and other Associates.Qualifications:Candidate Requirements: Minimum six months remittance processing experience preferred but not required. Demonstrated ability to work in a high production environment with critical quality standards. Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize work effectively. General knowledge of accounting principles helpful, to include debit/credit adjustments, general ledger entries, Federal Reserve check clearing standards. Previous payment research, payment exceptions and/or proofing experience helpful. Good analytical ability to identify and resolve potential issues dealing with a highly technical data processing system. Self motivated with a high attention to detail; excellent oral and written communication skills. 10-Key data entry experience preferred with ability to key minimum 5,000 kph.
