Associate Pension Consultant

 

Position Summary:

 

Sentinel Financial Group is seeking an Associate Pension Consultant.  This position is primarily responsible for the coordination of plan terminations, preparation of Determination Letter requests and compilation of voluntary correction filings with the IRS and DOL.  The successful candidate must be able to read and interpret retirement plan documents and have an understanding of the related rules and regulations.  The Associate Pension Consultant must interact with other Sentinel departments to ensure timely execution of the various steps in the termination and filing processes and escalate complex compliance issues as necessary.

 

Position Details:

 Review plan documentsPrepare all forms, schedules and demonstrations to request favorable determination lettersCoordinate plan termination processTrack multiple projects and follow-up with internal and external parties as necessaryAssemble plan document restatement packagesPrepare summaries of plan provisionsMaintain positive interactions with other Sentinel departments

 

Position Requirements:

 3 to 5 years of experience in all aspects of defined contribution plan administrationBA/BS degree preferredASPPA Qualified 401(k) Administrator (QKA) or higher credential preferredAbility to read and interpret plan documentsFamiliarity with IRS determination letter filings, voluntary correction programs and plan terminationsAccuracy and attention to detail
