AVP HR Operations
Get in on the ground floor as VP of human resources for an investment management spinoff. Phoenix Investment Partners, which sells mutual funds, institutional products and managed accounts, will spin off from its parent as a new public company in September. It has a solid foundation with staff of 400 in Hartford, CT and in subsidiaries around the country and $34 billion in assets under management. Great opportunity to develop and lead HR team and be part of the senior management group.Responsible for the effective delivery of administrative services for the company?s HR programs and policies, and administration of 401k, health & welfare benefit and executive benefit plans in a primarily outsourced environment. Acts as liaison for plan vendors; communicates benefit plans and policy design enhancements. Ensures compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley risk controls as well as any other internal/external compliance activity. Duties and Responsibilities:Administration:?Directs the effective delivery of all services in a compliant and cost effective manner?Resolves any problems related to Plan delivery and operation?Manages contracting process as needed for all Plans?Manages ADP overall relationship?Identifies and implements creative alternatives to current processes where appropriate?Keeps abreast of and ensures effective implementation of all new and changing compliance requirements and delivery alternatives?Ensures completion of all 5500 and related Schedules?Ensure all tax and regulatory filings are effectively handled?Ensures compliance for non-discrimination testing requirements?Ensures compliance with all SPD, SAR and HIPAA requirements ?Point of contact for escalated claim resolution, policy determination and other issues.?Directs the administration of non-qualified deferred compensation programs for executives and board of directors Employee Education & Communication: ?Ensures that new hires and existing staff understand all HR policies and Benefit Plan features, Plan operations and Plan requirements.?Serves as subject matter expert to educate senior management as needed?Coordinates with Communications Officer to ensure effective information is available to employees and plan participants?Develops communication strategy to insure policies and benefits are being properly utilized and valued?Works with Payroll department to ensure Payroll/Tax changes are effectively communicated.Vendor Management: ?Acts as liaison between vendors and Asset Management ?Communicates expectations and processing targets and monitors service level agreements?Reviews vendor reports to ensure plans are being properly administered by vendors.?Represents Asset Management at user group meetings to maximize use of vendor products and solutions?Acts as liaison between ADP Enterprise/ Asset Management IT and Tax DepartmentsDesign Support:?Participates in annual benefit renewal process?Identifies and communicates issues to Design team.?Identifies best practice design changes and implements them as necessary?Performs miscellaneous duties as required by management.?Must maintain appropriate attendance.Skills, Knowledge and/or Experience:?Significant technical business knowledge of staffing, organization development, defined contribution, defined benefit plans and health & welfare plans. ?Ability to conduct complex administrative studies?Ability to prepare informative financial reports and deliver persuasive, succinct presentations.?Business knowledge of Asset Management products?In depth knowledge of government regulations related to benefit and tax plans. ?Understands company non-qualified retirement plan benefits.?Strong negotiation and persuasions skills?Ability to communicate with and influence multiple constituencies including Legal and Finance?Excellent mathematical aptitude and knowledge of general accounting principles.?Ability to communicate effectively - both verbally and written with employees and plan vendors.?Ability to effectively present in front of people.?Excellent organizational skills required ?Ability to problem solve and use resources effectively?Demonstrated skills as a leader and managers with a broader business orientation than the technical aspects of HR and benefits?Ability to provide management support to diverse and unrelated areasPhoenix is committed to ensuring a safe, healthy, product and efficient work environment for our employees.
