We're part of a team that's making a difference in the quality of people's lives.Think What's Possible.Department Objectives:The Corporate Business Planning & Analysis (BPA) group facilitates the consolidation of short and long-range financial forecasts for the Novartis Pharmaceutical Corporation. The department establishes processes and guidelines for all planning functions and supports the technical infrastructure used by all planners.Job Description / Key Responsibilities:Manages TM1 financial system supporting budgets and forecasts for the U.S. Country Pharma Organization (CPO). Supervises the day to day operation of business planning infrastructure system administration (master data maintenance, data security, scheduling, data load/transfers/reconciliation) in support of the Rolling Forecast, Salary Planning and the Strategic Plan process. Controls the interfaces between TM1, and other external applications (ERP, HRIS) and controls the integrity of the financial information in the system. Assesses the impact of financial reporting changes on planning processes and provides recommendations to adapt the financial systems and incorporate the changes in TM1 (Allocations, GL Accounts, Cost center and PC structure).Prepares submissions of budgets and latest estimates to group. Provides end user support and training. Supports business planning and analysis to increase efficiency of Planning processes and automate monthly reporting and management presentations.Participates in and/or leads the execution of finance initiatives, performs ad-hoc analyses and presents findings to senior finance managementQualificationsStrong customer focus, analytical and problem solving skills. Must be detail oriented. Master's degree in Computer Science required. 5+ years of professional experience in a Financial Systems function with relevant involvement in planning applications, end-user training/support. Prior TM1 consulting experience.TechnicalPrior TM1 8.x System Administrator / Developer experience required. Expert knowledge of Microsoft Excel, VB and VBA . Familiarity with Applix Turbo Integrator (ETL). Proven experience integrating TM1 with other Database Management Systems. Knowledge of SQL and MDX language a plus.BusinessSolid finance foundation with good understanding of Profit & Loss statements. Prior experience with business planning processes including rolling revenue forecasts and operating expense projections.
