A/P Supervisor

The Accounting department is responsible for paying commissions to brokers and correspondents, issuing payroll and expense checks, and preparing financial statements.

 

Summary:  Essential functions include processing invoices to ensure accurate and timely payment to vendors.  Help compare vendor invoices to purchase orders, contracts, outstanding commitments and budgets.  Process accounts payable in accordance with division/regional guidelines concerning payment terms and approvals.  Provide accuracy in coding, dollar amounts, and keying invoices for payment, and matching invoices to checks.  Assist in preparing documents for reconciling accounts payable.  Maintain correspondence, checks, and accounting files.  Also responsible for the implementation of all accounting policies as they relate to accounts payable and monitoring of such policies. 

 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

·        Supervise accounts payable staff. 

·        Training A/P processors, assigning work, and reviewing work. 

·        Review and approve payables before check processing. 

·        General ledger entries and accrual for payables on a monthly basis. 

·        Implement policies and procedures related to payables. 

·        Develop, monitor, and ensure internal control procedures for A/P. 

·        Other related duties as assigned. 

 

 

Qualifications: 

·        Experience: 

o       Strong aptitude for computer software, including Excel & Word. 

o       Securities industry experience preferred. 

o       Well-developed verbal and written communication skills. 

·        Education: 

o       Bachelors degree, or 5 to 7 years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
