Sr. Developer - Siebel

Position Description:

Sr. Developer - Siebel General Summary Develops and supports Fox Global Siebel Data Warehouse using Siebel Analytics (OBIEE) by performing review, analysis, and modification of application and components; this includes the design, report development, testing, debugging and installation of those systems.Mandatory skills must include the following:• Document Report Specifications and Gather report business requirements• Develop Siebel Analytics reports and Dashboards.• Development of the business layer within the Siebel Analytics application. • Ability to create detailed specifications based on business user requirements.• Create and manage Siebel meta data repository.• Interact with end users to understand requirements.• Install Upgrade and Configure Siebel Analytics Software. Responsibilities 1. Analysis and Design• Attends and/or organizes fact gathering sessions with customers.• Performs business requirements analysis and/or consults with Business Analysts to identify and analyze technology needs and problems.• Participates in group application design activities.• Develop detailed functional, system, program and reporting specifications• Develop technical specifications for application components.• Prepares estimate for design, coding and testing.• Designs software and database objects.• Leads specified projects phases as assigned by management.2. Development and Testing• Develops new features and functions for existing software.• Develops new software solutions according to defined application requirements.• Performs Unit Testing and debugging of applications.• Works closely with the Testing team to assist in the development of integration and user acceptance test scenarios.• Provides programming support through all testing phases and general releases of enhancements on software updates.• Adheres to department programming standards and methodology.3. Delivery and Installation• Assists with pre-release and release processes including Change Control, Contingency and Fallback Plans and Production Turnover.• Provides input on turnover and systems documentation.• Assists the Infrastructure group with configuration and deployment of new systems.4. Production Support• Participates in functional analysis for production support activities.• Identifies simple problems and analyze potential solutions including workarounds.• Performs minor tuning, repairs and/or maintenance to production applications.• Works with other IT departments on integrated system support, as required.• Provides off hour support as required and is responsible for the production MicroStrategy application environment.5. Administrative• Works as a member of a cross-functional, integrated development team. • Participates in workload planning, tracking accomplishments, team meetings and status reporting.• Works with the other developers to continually improve development standards and other departmental processes and documentation. • Communicates plans, status and issues to management on a regular basis.• Adheres to department standards, policies, procedures and industry best practices.• Ability to coordinate project activities and tasks with other team members. Job Requirements Education: • Bachelors degreeKnowledge: • Good understanding of Siebel Analytics Architecture or other related software. • Working knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle methodologies.• Good understanding of modeling concepts.• Working knowledge of relational database concepts, SQL database management systems.• Familiarity with deployment strategies of distributed and multi-tiered applications.• Knowledge of Siebel Analytics Infrastructure requirements• Knowledge of Entertainment industry business practices a plus. • Knowledge of Siebel Answers and Delivers is a must. Skills:• Proven ability to communicate orally and in writing in a clear, concise, and timely manner.• Ability to create process flow diagrams and flowcharts using Visio or similar charting tool.• Intermediate to advanced skills in developing Microstrategy applications.• Intermediate to advanced skills in SQL• Ability to understand and translate simple business needs into technical solutions. Experience:• Minimum 5 years experience developing Data Warehouse applications in a business environment.• Minimum 3 year experience developing applications using Siebel Analytics and End to End Project development.• 3+ experience is using Siebel Analytics Tools (repository, web, dashboards, Delivers)• Strong experience in testing and tuning Siebel Analytics metadata and reports • Experience with SA Disconnected• Familiar with Informatica ETL development methodology Strong SQL skills Knowledge of Teradata database platform Experience with other DW reporting solutions (e.g., Microstrategy) Ability to work with business to translate functional requirements in technical specs Strong communication and documentation • Experience in working on a Teradata based Data Warehouse environment.• Home Entertainment industry or consumer products industry experience strongly preferred.• Category Management experience strongly preferred• Business Intelligence experience strongly preferred• Experience in Microstrategy is a plus.
