PPC operations also include Paramount Digital Entertainment, Paramount Home Entertainment, Paramount Pictures International, Paramount Licensing Inc., Paramount Studios and Worldwide Television Distribution.Description:Provide legal counsel, business advice, review legal aspects of and negotiate, draft and review documents in connection with Home Entertainment productResponsibilities to include, but not limited to:*Negotiates, analyzes and prepares a wide variety of agreements including license agreements, vendor agreements, acquisition agreements, promotion agreements releases, non-disclosure agreements and other contracts*Work closely with other lawyers in the business affairs and legal department and provide advice regarding day-to-day picture related issues including contractual rights and obligations, trademark, copyright, music, privacy rights and clearances*Oversight of technology issues regarding new video formats (HD-DVD and Blu Ray)*Various legal clearance, and other related services related to the production, manufacture, marketing and distribution of the studio?s motion pictures on home entertainment media as assigned*Provide counsel to senior executives regarding issues relating to the sale and distribution of Home Entertainment product in the United States and Canada and interaction with trade organizations in which company is a memberQualifications:Basic qualifications:*Completion of a Jurist Doctorate and required certifications for practicing law*Current admission to California bar*Outstanding academic credentials (high class rank at top twenty law school)*Minimum of five years of solid experience at top law firm or motion picture studio handling major studio domestic (US and Canada) legal and business affairs work including antitrust, revenue sharing, technology, content licensing, distribution and home entertainment related work*Experience and working knowledge in the fields of antitrust, intellectual property, copyright and trademark issues essentialDesired skills:*Familiarity with copyright collective societies preferred*Demonstrate knowledge in contract review and negotiations, documentation and compliance matters, antitrust, intellectual property, international transactions, as well as corporate governance matters*Ability to work in partnership with the company's business areas, including, operations, sales, marketing, business development, finance, tax, and technology. *Ability to interact positively and professionally with all levels of management, including senior management, customers and outside vendors*Be results-oriented with a track record of gaining management credibility and influencing business results*Skill in the use of personal computers and related software applications*Ability to foster a cooperative work environment*Ability, on a consistent basis, to communicate effectively with management and fellow employees*Ability, on a consistent basis, to maintain attention and concentration for extended periods of time*Ability, on a consistent basis, to function under substantial time pressure, and to perform under the demands set by the company and manage a high-volume workload efficiently and effectively in accordance with client priorities*Ability to multi-task in a manner that moves multiple projects forward concurrently*Ability to work within the appropriate level of independence, exercise good judgment and make decisions*Ability to perform the Duties and Responsibilities set forth above in a consistent and efficient manner*Ability to balance the use of tried and true solutions with the need for creative alternatives*Excellent writing skills, including strong plain language drafting and teamwork-oriented attitude essentialEligibility requirements:* Interested candidates must submit a resume/CV online to be considered * Must be willing to submit to a background investigation* Must be able to show eligibility to work in the United StatesParamount Pictures is an Equal Opportunity EmployerSalary/Benefits: Salary commensurate with experienceJob Location: Hollywood, CAJob Number: 5389Company URL: http://www.paramount.com/careers
