Operations Manager
Company Description:
Event 1 provides a turn-key approach from concept through implementation to create an event experience. From tradeshow decorator equipment, exhibit displays, event signage, graphic design and audio-visual production, we are a one stop shop. Our clients include corporations, associations and the government. We operate from a 20,000 square foot office/warehouse just outside Tulsa, Oklahoma. From pipe and drape to freight services and furniture rental to booth carpet, we offer a complete line of services for tradeshows, conventions, meetings and special events.Â

Goal:
Event 1 is looking for an aggressive, forward thinking, high-energy professional with integrity and leadership abilities to lead a team by motivating and setting the example for superior customer service.

Requirements:
2-5 years general management and/or operation management experience; experience in the hospitality/tradeshow industry a plus; prefer strong warehouse experience managing various environments with multiple stakeholders; strong collaboration skills. Previous experience in working for a tradeshow decorator (Freeman/GES) a huge plus. College preferred; not required.

Responsibilities: Supervise and manage a warehouse crew of 3-5 persons. Maintain work schedule, lead by example, motivate and develop a fun working environment. Work in conjunction with Event 1 Team to secure necessary information for each event and plan as follows: Coordinate and prepare necessary equipment for each event and plan for multiple events occurring at the same time; plan/coordinate truck-pack(s), secure all transportation required and coordinate with truck drivers. Maintain communication with freight companies who are receiving freight for shows. Coordinate additional manpower needs as required on a show-by-show basis. Expertise in working with various labor unions (IATSE, etc.) a plus. Develop a plan and maintain an organized warehouse at all times. Travel required; attend each show and manage on-site operations of tradeshow crew. Maintain positive and professional working relationships with all venue's Event 1 operates in setting a standard for superior customer service. Maintain positive and professional working relationships with necessary suppliers responsible for items such as freight, transportation, supplies, manpower agencies, equipment, etc. Work with audio-visual, meeting management and exhibit sales departments to ensure truck needs are met, labor is coordinated and team cohesiveness is maintained. Prepare invoice of equipment and services used upon conclusion of each event and share with CFO and accounting departments. Must have the ability to travel frequently, work weekends and overnight when events occur. Conduct on-going project reviews to ensure schedule, adhere to budgets, proper resource allocation and continuity of production processes. Establish and maintain internal production schedules. Prepare reports as requested by management Ability to take "ownership mentality" and manage the responsibilities like it was your own company. Physically demanding job; must be able to lift 25 pounds; operate forklift, be on your feet for long periods. Implement standard operating procedures and proactively develop, test and share process improvements. Proven abilities to manage ambiguity, maintain maturity and make solid decisions quickly. Ability to listen affectively and be results oriented all while developing a cohesive team.
