Event Coordinator

SMG, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities has an excellent and immediate opening for an Event Coordinator at the Carolina First Center. The Event Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the smooth operation of assigned events, by coordinating with appropriate building staff to assure proper set-up of events, and that client needs are met.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:Ascertain lessee requirements for physical set-up, security, ticketing, etc.Communicate event requirements to appropriate departments and staffOversee the operations, contractors, concessionaires, etc. to assure requirements are addressed and metProvide lessee with updatesPrepare cost estimates and monitor final billingInitiate required paperworkProvide guidance as appropriate to service staff during eventsAct as “point-person� for outside promotersFollow all safety rules and regulationsReport any unsafe or hazardous conditions to supervisor immediatelyPerform other duties/responsibilities as assigned by Sr. Event Manager

QUALIFICATIONS:Excellent communication and inter-personal skills2 – 3 years event management experience or related public relations, promotions experienceB. A. in Business or Management preferredKnowledge of hospitality and tourism industry helpfulMust have great organizational skillsAbility to meet or exceed deadlinesAbility to work irregular hours including some evenings and weekends
