Director of Special Events

The Jonathan Club is a 'member only' club with over 112 years of history, two locations in Downtown Los Angeles and Santa Monica, California with approximately 3,600 members. The club facilities include fine dining and casual dining, meeting rooms, guestrooms and suites and a state of the art sports & fitness floor and spa services. The Director of Special Events position is based out of the downtown Los Angeles location and does plan and participate in events in Santa Monica as they occur throughout the year.

The Director of Special Events responsibilities include:Attending and participating in committee meetings comprised of members. Event planning including developing theme, decor, event activities, coordination of menus, event layout, registration and staffing. Attend catering and menu meetings to communicate details concerning special events. Attend staff promotion meetings and participate in brainstorming and conceptualizing event promotional collateral. Attend and oversee all special events. Attend pre and post event meetings. Communicate and delegate tasks relating to special events. Formulation and adherence of annual budget. Produce profit and loss statement for each event. Determine break even budget for events. Create graphics and text for all special events. Promote special events following time sensitive time line.

Qualifications:Proven track record in creating upscale creative themed events including selection of props, linen and favors. Minimum five years event planning experience in high end enviroment Bachelors Degree Flexible working schedule including weekends and evenings. Excellent oral and written communication and financial expertise.
