Yucca Mountain Licensing Document Processing Lead
Yucca Mountain Licensing Document Processing Lead
The Bettis Laboratory has developed advanced Naval nuclear propulsion technology and provided technical support during the construction, operation, and maintenance of Naval nuclear propulsion plants for more than 50 years. Bettis designed reactor plants for the first nuclear-powered submarines (USS NAUTILUS) and aircraft carrier (USS ENTERPRISE), all of the Nimitz class aircraft carriers, and the USS SEAWOLF. A major initiative for the Laboratory is the design of nuclear-powered propulsion plants and electrical power systems for the next class of U.S. Navy aircraft carriers. The Laboratory’s main sites are located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and Idaho Falls, Idaho. Other locations where Bettis provides support include Charleston, South Carolina, and shipyards located in Groton, Connecticut and Newport News, Virginia. The Bettis Laboratory is operated for the Department of Energy by Bechtel Bettis, Inc.
Bettis’ responsibilities for nuclear propulsion include research and development, design, testing, training, new construction and operational support, and the examination and disposal of expended reactors. This “cradle-to-grave” responsibility provides the opportunity for diverse and challenging work assignments.
Location: This position will be at the main site, located near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
Responsibilities:
The Navel Nuclear Propulsion Program (NNPP) is a party to the U.S. Department of Energy's (DOE) license application for construction of a radioactive waste facility at Yucca Mountain. This position is responsible for the development, implementation and monitoring of work flow processes associated with NNPP's document production responsibilities to comply with the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Licensing Support Network (LSN). The successful candidate will be responsible for the document review and production process and its implementation through the NNPP's Product Data Management (PDM) software tool, Agile. This position requires extensive interaction with all levels of NNPP prime contractor and headquarters personnel. The successful candidate will be expected to assist in the processing, review and disposition of Yucca Mountain LSN documents. The candidate will also be involved in the development and implementation of the next phases of the Yucca Mountain licensing support effort.
Educational Requirements:
Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in any discipline. A Bachelor's degree or higher in an engineering or science discipline is preferred.
Experience Requirements:
Prior experience as a user or developer of the Agile Product Data Management (PDM) software tool is desired. Preferred candidates will have experience in the successful development and implementation of work processes and integration of said processes with use of the Agile PDM. The ideal candidate will also have knowledge of and/or experience in developing WorkFlow processes in the Agile PDM.
U.S. CITIZENSHIP IS REQUIRED
Applicants selected will be subject to a Federal background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified material.
