The Water Resources Specialist/Staff Specialist II will lead task teams for water quality and watershed management projects, assessing water quality and ecological resource impact from discharges and other watershed stressors. The successful candidate will implement field tasks to provide data to characterize watershed hydrology, water quality, and ecological and other resources. In addition, this successful candidate will manage multiple projects related to hydrology, aquatic and sediment chemistry as well as participate in long and short-term field assignments.QualificationsThe successful candidate will have broad-based watershed analysis experience with technical capabilities in hydrology, aquatic and sediment chemistry, and/or risk assessment, in addition to knowledge of the Clean Water Act and related regulations. This candidate should possess experience in hydrological and water quality modeling, including the use of GIS-based models, watershed management which includes developing environmentally compatible water supplies, managing sediment removal (dredging), ecorestoration, creating enhanced wetlands for pollutant removal, and land use planning and control.Experience in the use of state-of-the-science analysis and risk assessment techniques is preferred. Position requires out of city as well as out of state travel.BS degree or higher in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering or related field is required. Masters degree preferred, with a minimum of 3 years' experience.
