Michael Baker Jr. Inc., a division of Michael Baker Corporation, seeks a Water Resource Engineer /Civil Engineer II for our Anchorage, Alaska Office.

Michael Baker Jr. Inc. has been a presence in Alaska for more than 65 years providing cold regions engineering. Baker’s services in Alaska concentrate on pipeline design; H&H, civil, and geotechnical design; and environmental regulatory support. Current work includes supporting pipeline projects on the North Slope, the annual Colville River spring breakup hydrological assessment, and engineering studies and support for natural gas pipeline projects. The Alaska office employs 30 professional engineers and support staff.

 

The Civil Engineer II will conduct engineering studies and perform design tasks related to bridge design, horizontal directional drilling, hydrology, hydraulics, flood plain mapping, scour analysis, storm drainage facilities and watershed planning for a variety of projects and clients.  Depending on experience, the successful candidate could be supervising a team of water resource engineers, GIS specialists and/or CADD technicians to ensure that the goals or objectives of the project are accomplished within the prescribed time frame and funding parameters.  Some travel is required.

Requirements:Four year degree in Civil Engineering or Engineering Geology 7-10 years of related experienceMaster's degree may be substituted for one to two years of experience.  Professional Engineering registration

Preference:Alaska experience
