Lear Siegler Services, Inc. (LSI) is immediately hiring a qualified Vehicle Mechanic in support of U.S. Army vehicle maintenance operations at Ft. Lee, Virginia High School graduate or equivalent. Three (3) years wheeled vehicle maintenance / repair experience at the journeyman level required. Prior military Vehicle Mechanic MOS (63B) experience is highly desired.Must have completed military vehicle maintenance training or vehicle maintenance technical school curriculum.Must possess and maintain current, a valid driver's license as a condition of employment and be able to operate worked equipment. Knowledge and proper use of special tools / equipment required to perform assigned maintenance tasks is mandatory. Must be able to meet physical requirements associated with and / or pass any medical examination requirements related to performing daily assigned tasks. May be required to pass and maintain a U.S. Government background security check. Job Description : Repairs, rebuilds, or overhauls major assemblies of internal combustion automobiles, buses, trucks or tractors. Work involves most of the following: Diagnosing the source of trouble and determining the extent of repairs required; replacing worn or broken parts such as piston rings, bearings, or other engine parts; grinding and adjusting valves; rebuilding carburetors; overhauling transmissions; and repairing fuel injection, lighting, and ignition systems. Inspect, train others and perform organizational, intermediate level maintenance/modifications on contract units, subsystems, support equipment and related weapons system. Advise team members and solve unusual maintenance problems by analysis.
