The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical expertise to both the Operations and Maintenance departments at the plant. The individual will be responsible for conducting root cause analysis on equipment failures, generating unit and equipment performance improvements, applying performance test results and predictive maintenance results to accurately provide equipment health status in order to eliminate unplanned equipment failures. This position requires the ability to function as the technical lead for mechanical equipment operation, maintenance, repairs, and modifications. Responsibilities include condition-assessment and troubleshooting of mechanical equipment such as pumps, turbines, air-heaters, boilers, economizers, fly-ash systems, and air-compressors. Development and execution of both short and long term solutions for this equipment to meet safety, environmental, reliability, and efficiency goals established at the Bay Shore Plant are also a key responsibility of the position. This individual will also be responsible for Capital and O&M projects, from conception to completion, under their areas of responsibility as well as performing a contract administration role when outside vendors are brought in to complete work. This individual will also provide coverage for unit and equipment outages, both planned and forced. Such assignments may include back shift and weekend schedules Qualifications Required Bachelor of Science degree in engineering At least 5 years of experience, preferably in the power industry. The ability to conduct research, analyze data, develop alternatives and recommendations, contribute to solutions and meet customer needs. Must be able to safely perform equipment inspections using Personal Protective Equipment, as needed, in a confined space, or on scaffolding.
