Chevron Energy Technology Company is accepting online applications for the position of Trap & Seal Analyst located in Houston, Texas.Overview:Chevron Energy Technology Company, headquartered in Houston, Texas, provides energy technology solutions and services to all Chevron operations and affiliates.The Reservoir and Seal Prediction Team provides exploration scale predictive reservoir stratigraphy and seals/shales stratigraphy. The job scope could expand to include development and production reservoir compartmentalization issues.Qualifications:Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to: Develop and apply trap analysis techniques with a focus on exploration-scale trap and seal risks and column height uncertainties. Work with members of the Reservoir and Seal Prediction Team and explorationists in our operating units to provide pre-drill seal forecasts to evaluate risk for our worldwide exploration program. Conduct independent project work and consult with business unit personnel. Evaluate and design new technology solutions. Develop technical programs and facilitate training courses. Stewardship of external research projects and some mentoring.Required Qualifications: A Master's degree in sedimentology, stratigraphy, structural geology, rock physics or related discipline. A minimum of 5 years of directly related experience. Ability to evaluate and design new technology solutions. Experience in evaluating trap integrity and geologic risk. Knowledge of fault or top seal analysis. A focus on structural geology, stratigraphy, basin analysis, or fluid flow. The ability to work individually and collaboratively with the technical and operations teams. Strong presentation skills.Preferred Qualifications: Ph.D. in sedimentology, stratigraphy, structural geology or rock physics. A broad background in exploration geology and the ability to integrate and QC diverse datasets. Computer skills related to seismic interpretation, earth modeling, and seal analysis. A strong background in seal analysis.
