Job description:
Syn-Tech Systems, an electronics development firm with excellent benefits is currently accepting applications for a Test Engineering Supervisor. As a Test Engineering Supervisor/Manager at Syn-Tech, you will be a part of a team that ensures the quality and stability of our fuel accounting and fuel management software and our micro controller-based fuel control and accounting equipment, assuring that they meet Syn-Tech quality and reliability standards and our customers' needs. Syn-Tech develops these programs for the Government and commercial industry. The Test Engineering Supervisor's job is to:
· Work with other development teams during the entire product life cycle to ensure that products are designed to include complete diagnosis, testability and maintainability features.
· Perform software, firmware, and embedded systems testing.
· Support and manage released products and configuration information.
· Manage / develop / write product documentation.
· Train Product Support & Field Service personnel on newly developed products.
· Supervise the Test Engineering team, providing both administrative and technical guidance and support to the team.
· Product Testing
· Develop and utilize an efficient and effective system for testing and releasing products.
· Implement, maintain and document test procedures.
· Record issues and defects in bug tracking program.
· Provide and/or assist in Beta level support.
· Provides input to the Training Manager on new products, upgrades, etc
· Provide training/information to Product Support & Field Service personnel on new or updated products.
· Demo new or updated products, features, functions, installations, operations and diagnostics.
· Create baseline test plans and procedures to be used in the development of all Syn-Tech hardware and software products. These plans are used as guides in the development of detailed test plans for each product.
· Lead the creation of comprehensive product specific test plans and procedures in concert with other engineering staff.
· Execute the test plans/procedures during the development process together with other engineering staff.
· Perform regression tests of all Syn-Tech hardware and software products throughout their entire lifecycle to ensure accurate and consistent product performance.
· Work with the development teams to create unit, module and system test plans and, where possible, test scaffolding & code. These same test tools are used by the developers and the test team to ensure that each stage of the product development cycle produces the highest quality output.
· Develop comprehensive quality standards for all hardware and software development efforts together with development management and senior engineering staff.
· Establish and maintain metrics to ensure adherence to those quality standards.
Experience
· Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or comparable fields required. MS in the same fields desirable.
· At least three years experience in test engineering required.
· Experience with test scripting languages and platforms.
· Good communications skills, both verbal and written, essential.
· Supervisory experience (e.g. team lead or better)
