Location Marlborough MAJob Responsibilities ViaSat is a leader in providing practical solutions for difficult communications problems.  ViaSat brings a unique mix of communications, networking and security expertise to offer secure networking solutions for satellite and terrestrial communications applications.  The company continues to grow at a record pace, with all business areas benefiting.  A key to the company's growth and stability has been its flexibility in serving both commercial and military markets.  Join ViaSats' team in Marlborough, Massachusetts and help continue ViaSat's growth and leadership in the communications field.The Marlborough Engineering Center is an extension of ViaSat's Carlsbad, California engineering office.  It is a unique environment with many of the benefits of a small entrepreneurial start-up (~50 engineers), but with the stability and backing of a larger company ($.5B in sales, ~1800 employees).  The Marlborough Engineering Center has doubled in size recently and ViaSat is looking for an individual who is excited about the challenges and responsibilities associated with such growth, and a person who is eager to help accelerate this growth.Candidate will be responsible for the design of step-by-step procedures for verifying requirements of an embedded, multi-channel, packet encryptor.  Candidate will prove out the procedures using a prototype encryptor as a test subject, stimulated by PC-based test tools and commercial test equipment.  Procedures must be accurately documented as they will be subjected to Government customer review and approval.  The final procedure will be automated using scripts written in the Python language.  Candidate will be expected to conduct the tests assigned to him for witness by Government personnel, and prepare test results for the publication in a test report.  When problems are exposed in the product design, candidate will work with the original hardware, software, and gate array design teams to replicate the errors.Experience/Skills Required 5+ years experience in communications product design and/or verification.  Sufficient exposure to communications hardware, software, and/or logic designs to facilitate quick understanding of how to exercise a packet-based crypto over its full range of capabilities.  Knowledge of a test scripting language is required.Education Requirements BA/BSTravel Required Up to 25 percentUS Citizenship Required?
