Position Title: Telecommunications Technician

Responsibilities:
The person in this position is responsible for implementing, maintaining, and supporting TechniGraphics phone systems, video conferencing, and data networks across all sites. This includes internal systems as well as working with external suppliers and service providers to ensure the quality and uptime of the TechniGraphics WAN and telecommunication circuits.
Must have ability to:Ensure phone systems and phone circuits are available at all timesEnsure internet and MPLS circuits are available at all timesEnsure the performance and availability of internal data networksEnsure the performance and availability of video conferencing equipmentManage cellular provider accounts and equipment procurementPerform configuration changes in support of helpdesk move/add/change requestsPerform configuration data back-up according to established plansPropose and design telecommunications and networking system enhancements Maintain system integrity and ensure security of telecommunication systemsProvide technical mentoring to other IT staff on telecom support issuesProvide support for escalations from helpdesk support staffTrain employees on proper operation of telecommunication systemsEscalate issues to management as appropriateWork as a team member in a distributed environmentTravel to remote sites to resolve issues and to receive training
Education: Associate Degree or equivalent experience in a Corporate IT environmentCertified Cisco Network Associate/Professional (CCNA/CCNP) preferredContinual education and training required to maintain understanding of changing technologies Qualifications:Excellent understanding of Telecommunications topics such as VoIP, PRI, MPLS, T-1Excellent understanding of data networking concepts and the configuration and use of Cisco equipmentGood understanding of high-availability architectures and disaster recovery 2-4 years experience in maintaining data and telecommunication networksGood communication skills, verbal and writtenMust be personable and able to interact with employees of all levelsExcellent customer service skillsMust be able to work independentlyMust be able to obtain US Government Security Clearance
