Telecommunications Network Documentation Specialist

Job Summary

The Successful Network Documentation Specialist shall be responsible for accurately inputting fiber optic routes and specifications such as splice points, fiber assignments, dB losses and equipment into the OSP Insight/Small World programs.  The individual will need to work closely and coordinate detailed information with other departments as well as outside contractors and partners.  Other duties may need to be performed as assigned.  Problem solving and attention to detail are critical.  Some travel may be required.

 

 Functions/Responsibilities

1.        Input fiber route into system.

2.        Verify all input information.

3.        Input final construction specifications into   Network Documentation   

4.        Perform other duties as deemed necessary.

 

 Computer Experience

The position requires intermediate knowledge of Windows 95, MS Office, Excel, AutoCAD 14, and MapInfo.  Knowledge of OSP Insight and Small World is a plus.

 

 Accountabilities

The Network Documentation Specialist will be accountable to the Manager of OSP Engineering based in Grand Rapids, MI.

 

 Education

The desired candidate would have an Associates Degree in either Mechanical or Civil Drafting or related field or equivalent real world experience.

 

 Experience

The qualified candidate requires a minimum of two years drafting experience.  Candidate must be self-motivated and work well under sometimes-stressful situations and be able to process requests for assistance promptly.
