Technology Licensing Associate
TECHNOLOGY LICENSING ASSOCIATE, Technology Licensing Office, to administer, market, and maintain license agreements, working under the direction of the appropriate technology licensing officers. Will serve as a liaison to and communicate with the licensing officers' industrial counterparts, faculty, patent attorneys, and accountants on invention disclosures, license activities, and patent education programs; obtain relevant information concerning publication and sponsorship; attend licensing negotiations with licensees, keep track of terms and issues of licensing agreements, and draft basic clauses reflecting negotiations for review by technology licensing officers; enter invention disclosures and licensing data into a database system, keep updated files, and prepare reports; participate in obtaining waivers of government rights to inventions; and assist with marketing studies.
REQUIREMENTS: a strong background and interest in science, e.g., a B.S. in engineering, chemistry, materials science, or physics; outstanding written and oral communication skills with the ability to quickly convey complex issues clearly and succinctly; strong priority setting skills; and office and/or organizational experience. The ideal candidate thrives in an environment that encourages strategic thinking and enjoys working independently in a collaborative setting. Seek a self starter who can handle multiple assignments despite frequent interruptions, demonstrates strong intellectual curiosity, and has an interest in clarifying and simplifying complexity.
