Technical/Engineering Project Manager
Manager (Manager/Supervisor of Staff) Relevant Experience: 2+ to 5 Years Technical/Engineering Project Manager Description: Technical Engineering Project Manager Job Description: Technical project management including the mechanical design, and implementation of machines and systems utilized in the secondary packaging of pharmaceuticals, nutraceuticals and medical devices. Responsibilities: Mechanical Engineering • Creation of sound mechanical design concepts based on reasonably formulated and documented calculations • Creation of 3-D part and assembly models in Solidworks • Creation of 2-D drawings in Solidworks as required for the fabrication and assembly of original equipment • Customer interaction to drive successful concept and design review meetings • Supplier interaction as necessary to identify suitable COTS equipment and assist the Buyer in obtaining timely quotations • Work with the Director of Engineering to improve project deliverables throughout the lifecycle (understand how to build requirements documents, functional and technical specification documents) Project Management • Responsible for overseeing product development from conception thru deployment and must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously • Act as the primary contact between the Customer and the company • Deliver project status to Senior Management on a weekly basis, understand risk management and communicate risk when necessary, build contingency and mitigation plans throughout the process; ensure that a proactive response is made by the right members of the team to all communicated project concerns, risks and issues that arise • Facilitate communications between all parties involved in the process through the regular distribution of detailed status reports • Review and obtain all necessary sign-off documents from our company and our customer • Maintain Project Budgets and Expenses • very good multi-tasking skills and the comfort to work well under pressure • Participation in the development of Project Schedules and Budgets • Project execution within budget and delivery constraints • Manage all aspects of the assembly process, making sure all assembly tasks are completed on time, maintaining a high level of quality for all commitments and communicating effectively to all involved • Ability to manage and resolve design issues identified during the assembly phase, with the assistance of the Lead Controls Engineer and the Lead Technician Minimum Qualifications: (must have) • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from a nationally accredited college or university • 3 years of related industry experience • Strong written and verbal communication, leadership, and project management skills • Proficiency in MS office (Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, Outlook) • Solidworks and AutoCad • Familiarity with ERP/MRP databases Knowledge of and Experience with: • Automation System Design including the application of linear and rotary actuators, proximity sensors, photoelectric sensors, pneumatics, vision systems, etc. • Process documentation, e.g.: Completely populated project build books, Functional Specifications, Process Algorithms, Throughput and Cycle Time Analysis Requirements: Minimum Qualifications: (must have) • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from a nationally accredited college or university • 3 years of related industry experience • Strong written and verbal communication, leadership, and project management skills • Proficiency in MS office (Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, Outlook) • Solidworks and AutoCad • Familiarity with ERP/MRP databases Knowledge of and Experience with: • Automation System Design including the application of linear and rotary actuators, proximity sensors, photoelectric sensors, pneumatics, vision systems, etc. • Process documentation, e.g.: Completely populated project build books, Functional Specifications, Process Algorithms, Throughput and Cycle Time Analysis Benefits: Westaff's staffing associates enjoy the benefits of a flexible schedule as well as the support of professionals who can help launch and develop their careers.
