The Energy, Environment and Infrastructure Business Unit of SAIC is currently looking for a Task Manager with a Geology or Environmental background.  This is an excellent opportunity for someone with about 2 years of experience and a P.G. certification.   JOB DESCRIPTION: Coordinates and staffs field activities including groundwater and soil sampling, monitoring well installations, and pilot scale remediation efforts. Also coordinates and schedules subcontractors. Ensures that employees and subcontractors have appropriate and necessary training under the program. Interprets and compiles field and lab data and authors reports. Will be assigned tasks by Project Managers and the Program Manager. Some customer and regulatory agency interaction anticipated. Will work under a behavior based safety program and will have responsibility for flowing down the safety program requirements to junior staff and subcontractor staff. This position is considered a precursor to a Project Management role. REQUIRED EDUCATION/SKILLS: Bachelor's degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or related discipline. Master's degree preferred. 2+ years of related experience required. Proficiency with MS Word and MS Excel required. Job will require knowledge of data manipulation using MS Excel. Some level of proficiency with MS Power Point and MS Project a plus. Position requires accurate, concise technical writing. Verbal communication skills will be very important also as the position will require interaction with the customer, regulatory agencies, subcontractors, and junior field staff.
