Systems Specialist
The Systems Specialist position is located in the Southwest or West Coast, USA. Description: The role of the Systems Specialist is to provide strong technical and industrial leadership for multiple customer sites in the transactional market. In this role, the Systems Specialist will lead all applicable customer Operators and Kodak Field Engineers to well established and proven processes, infrastructure, habits, and technical skills. The Systems Specialist will mentor the customer Operators and champion the customers' problems through to resolution. This especially includes any applicable activity associated with new equipment installations, and gaining formal customer acceptance. Systems Specialist is a mentor to all Kodak Field Engineers, District Service Manager(s), and Zone Manager(s) who serve the customer sites assigned to them, and regards them as direct internal customers. They perform their roles in complete harmony with any mission, responsibilities, and goals associated with serving and satisfying the external customer(s). Other responsibilities include technical assistance on applicable products via phone, email and especially remote diagnostics. The position requires high emphasis on communication and customer relations as well as technical skills. Collateral responsibilities include tracking the sites' PMs, product update implementation, submitting technical bulletins to Global Customer Service Support, reviewing FRU inventory recommendations, ensuring accurate site spares inventory, if any. On the option of the IPS Global Support Service Manager, the position may require participation in a 24x7 after-hours technical support duty rotation. Both domestic and international travel is required. This travel may be unscheduled when associated with emergency on-site support for Field Engineers when remote support fails. System Specialists serve assigned new and mature customer sites. The incumbent will visit these sites periodically, to perform very high level maintenance or training of Operators or Field Engineers, or to meet with local Kodak and customer personnel. Management will assign projects to fill the time when the Systems Specialist is not traveling. Various collateral duties may be assigned by Versamark management. QUALIFICATIONS: Prioritized Skill Requirements: Excellent customer interface demeanor is essential. Must be able to understand the customers' requirements, preferences, and goals, then manage and accommodate them with solutions and advice or mentoring. MUST have a strong mechanical aptitude, as demonstrated by multiple years of related technical experience. a. >75% travel is required domestically and internationally. Management reserves the option to increase as applicable for business needs. Some travel will be of short-notice, and may occur over weekends. Must be able to read/comprehend and communicate information from schematics, mechanical drawings, and other sources, and have a thorough knowledge of common PC software, including complex installations & hard disk restoration, etc. The Systems Specialist must command a high level of technical, professional, and personal respect from all customer and Kodak personnel globally.
