The major qualifications are the ability to write well technically along with 6500 switch experience to satisfactorily configure/stage/site test the network described above.
The Major Implementation Tasks are:
Staging of Switches
The Switch Engineers will verify the draft switch configurations prepared in an earlier documentation phase and make appropriate modifications to reflect the final network design including DIACAP considerations, configure the switches in architectural hierarchy groups of MCN to MCN, MCN and ADN, and ADN to Layer 3/2 EUB switches. The switch complement to be staged and implemented are 6509s,6506s, 6504s and 2960s.
The architectural hierarchy groups will be tested as per the Network Test Plan and results documented. The switch configurations will be placed under formal Configuration Management control after satisfactory network testing is complete.
Implementation of Switches

The Switch Engineers will then verify the final switch configurations prepared and make appropriate modifications to reflect the final network design configurations in architectural hierarchy groups of MCN to MCN, MCN and ADN, and ADN to Layer 3/2 EUB or edge switches.
The architectural hierarchy groups will be tested as per the Network Test Plan and results documented. The switch configurations are under formal Configuration Management control and changes to the configurations need formal approval to implement.
After satisfactory Network Test Plan completion with all issues resolved, the network will under go Systems Acceptance Test (SAT) by NetStar-1 with formal Government observers and Government SAT test acceptance sign off.
