Location Marlborough MAJob Responsibilities ViaSat combines a strong background in networking and data encryption to provide high assurance networks for commercial and government customers. ViaSat is on the forefront of secure network development. Put your networking experience to practical use designing and implementing these next generation secure networks. Get involved at the start and stay involved as the product transitions to production. Provide networking system engineering support to include requirements, architecture definition and system design, development, integration and test. Assist in the development of new products and systems by providing networking technical support for new business development activities. Support may include writing proposals or white papers, meeting with customers, or conducting presentations. It is a unique environment with many of the benefits of a small entrepreneurial start-up (~50 engineers), but with the stability and backing of a larger company ($.5B in sales, ~1500 employees). The Marlborough Engineering Center has doubled in size recently and ViaSat is looking for an individual who is excited about the challenges and responsibilities associated with such growth, and a person who is eager to help accelerate this growth. Up to 25% travel can be expected.Experience/Skills Required Minimum of 5 to 10 years in the design and development of advanced TCP/IP networks. Protocol knowledge of IPv4/IPv6, SNMPv3, DHCP, IGMP and IP Security is required. Protocol familiarity with QoS and Routing including MPLS, RIP and OSPF is desired. Exposure to security certification process via commercial FIPS 140-2 or Common Criteria standards is a plus. US Citizenship required.  BS in Engineering, Computer Science, Math, or Physics.
