POSITION DESCRIPTION

 

JOB TITLE: Systems Engineer – Cable

 

LOCATION:    Downingtown, Pennsylvania

DESCRIPTION:

This is an exciting opportunity in the digital interactive TV industry working on hardware and software integration platform for new interactive digital TV applications. Position will provide testing, systems integration services and technical support of interactive television infrastructure products on-site at customer locations.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

·  A Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or equivalent experience with specific interest in the field of Cable or Telecommunications

·  Minimum of 3 Years Experience as a Systems Engineer or Sales Engineer - Preferably in a Cable or Telecom Environment

·  Minimum of 3 Years Experience with TCP/IP Networks, Routing, and Physical Network Topologies

·  Experience with UNIX/Linux Software and Operating System Components

·  Strong knowledge of UNIX/Linux shell scripting languages and system tools such as BASH, PERL, vi, etc.

·  Strong Hardware and Software Trouble-shooting Skills

·  Strong Interpersonal and Communications Skills

·  Effective Customer Communication Skills Relative to the Application of Technical Products and Business Issues

·  Ability to Travel on Short Notice As Required Approximately 60% of the Time

DESIRED SKILLS:

·  Experience in the Cable Television or Telecom Industry

·  Knowledge of ISA Digital Cable Architecture

·  Knowledge of Software Develop Languages, Java, C/C++

·  Knowledge of DSM-CC, LSCP, RTSP, and Protocols

·  Experience with Configuring and Trouble-Shooting Motorola Digital Cable Systems (DAC, NC, OM and RPD).
