System Safety Engineer (Missile Programs)

Bachelor's degree in science or engineering. Additional experience may substitute for the degree requirement, but at minimum an Associate's degree is required.Three to Four years experience in systems engineering or related fleet operational experience with missile systems. Experience with systems including Standard Missile (SM) 2/3/6, Evolved Sea Sparrow Missile (ESSM), NATO Sea Sparrow Missile System (NSSMS), and/or Rolling Airframe Missile (RAM) is required. Experience with MIL-STD-882 system safety engineering a plus.Good communications and analytical skills; working knowledge of computer systems and integrated software application programs (Microsoft Office) is required.Must be a U.S. Citizen. Job Description : EG&G Technical Services, Inc., is seeking a Systems (Safety) Engineer to provide technical support to the missile system safety program. You will perform a range of hardware/software safety analyses and hazard assessments. Develop safety documentation and presentation materials for safety review board meetings. Conduct safety evaluations/investigations. Review and provide safety comments relative to adequacy of various system safety program documentation such as the System Safety Program Plan, Preliminary Hazards Analysis, System Hazards Analysis, Sub-system Hazards Analysis and Operating and Support Hazards Analysis. Review Computer Program Change Requests (CPCRs), Software Trouble Reports (STRs), Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs), and the like, for safety impact.You will also establish or maintain databases as needed for hazard tracking status; support and/or conduct test activities, design reviews, and safety assessments of hardware/software trouble reports. Prepare and deliver MIL-STD-882 safety analyses, comprehensive technical data packages and supporting presentations for review by senior level safety review boards. Interact with customers and Project Leads to prioritize and accomplish multiple tasks. Position may require limited travel. : : EOE M/F/D/V
