We are seeking an Engineer with a Masters Degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering or FDE with two years of experience in the job or as a Staff Engineer.
Responsibilities
Conduct structural analysis and design using company standards and code of practices:
· Prepare calculations and drawings with applicable project specifications;
· Perform finite element analysis, static and dynamic analysis; work on graphical software for structural layouts and design;
· Ensure that the above work meets the design criteria for the projects;
· Point out any deficiencies identified in the design criteria to the lead engineer or the manager; draft designs;
· Assess constructability and function of the proposed design and all the possibilities and methods of construction;
· Coordinate with other design departments to avoid any interference and other conflicts with the intended use of the equipment or structure;
· Visit construction plant or site to gather information for design and/or to observe construction;
· Produce design aids in the format of worksheets or files, for future use;
· Perform research for new projects and the design estimates;
· Review shop drawings and vendor equipment drawings;
· Work on the engineering model and back-checks the model;
· Work with supervisor to see that sequential checking is employed and follow company and departmental checking procedures;
· Keep track of updated information and project schedule requirement and discuss/point out any discrepancies
