RESPONSIBILITIES

The candidate will be responsible for analyzing, designing and managing the structural design of wastewater and water treatment plants, water distribution systems, industrial facilities, transit facilities and some commercial structures. Candidate will develop design criteria for projects, prepare structural design computations and check computations prepared by others, forecast workload and schedules, prepare scope of work and budget estimates, supervise the development of contract drawings, check structural design drawings, coordinate design with other disciplines, prepare specifications and develop new specifications as needed, review shop drawing submittals, conduct condition assessments of existing structures and prepare reports, and mentor and manage lower level staff.

REQUIREMENTS

BSCE required; MSCE preferred
Professional registration required. Ability to obtain reciprocal registrations.
Minimum of 8 to 12 years of experience in the structural analysis and design of reinforced concrete, structural steel masonry and foundations for wastewater and water treatment plants, water distribution systems, and industrial structures. Experience with transit,transportation, tunnel, or commercial structures a plus.
Knowledge of U.S. building codes, including ACI 350, and application to design situations
Experienced in structural condition assessments and report preparation
Experienced using structural engineering software such as STAAD (or similar), PCA, MathCad, AutoCad
Experienced using standard Microsoft Office (Excel and Word)
Prior supervisory experience preferred.
