This key position requires an experienced, highly-motivated engineer to drive continuous improvement with our supplier partners. Our Strategic Sourcing Engineer travels the globe, developing new sources and suppliers of raw materials to make our world class chainsaw chain, guide bars and accessories.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:Innovative sourcing including both domestic and low-cost country sourcing Select and develop new suppliers Negotiate purchase of components and raw materials from domestic and low-cost country sources This position includes 30% travel
EDUCATION:Bachelors Degree in Mechanical or Metallurgical Engineering required Significant progress toward Certified Purchasing Manager certification helpful
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of five years of relevant experience
SKILLS: Demonstrated skills negotiating with suppliers and customers Demonstrated success managing via influence Demonstrated success in a team environment, including interaction with suppliers and customers Excellent written and oral communication skills Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
