Sr. Water Resources Engineer
BS degree in Civil, Agricultural, Environmental or other engineering disciplines emphasizing water resources and/or water/wastewater treatment. PE or ability to attain within one year is required.Minimum 5 years of experience in water resources planning (comprehensive water resource management planning, water master planning, flood management, groundwater resources, permitting), analysis, planning and design of open and closed channel hydraulic structures and facilities, soil and water chemistry, hydrology, engineering economics and statistics.Thorough knowledge of a) water resources and water supply planning, including municipal and agricultural civil works; b) hydraulics & hydrology, c) groundwater supply and quality issues, and d) urban water conservation/best management practices and agricultural water use efficiency. Working knowledge of a) California water policy and law, b) state and federal water project systems and c) reservoir/water project operations. Job Description : This is a senior level position with URS' growing Central Valley water resources group participating in water resource investigations, planning, analyses and design as a project engineer or project manager. Responsibilities include: applying technical knowledge on water resources projects; asserting leadership within the team as project manager; conducting and directing hydraulic, hydrologic and other water resource planning and analyses; reviewing and preparing reports and design documentation; assisting junior staff, provide high-level service to clients proactively resolve conflicts; developing contacts, identifying opportunities, managing proposals and winning work in water and wastewater business line in Central California.
