Location: SACRAMENTO, CA 95814Under the direction of Sr. Program Manager, function as task leader on all transportation-related environmental quality projects statewide. Prepare air and noise assessments for environmental documents for stationary and mobile sources associated with a wide variety of projects, including land development, transportation and infrastructure improvements, and planning programs.  Perform technical QA/QC for work by other air/noise scientists; prepare air and noise analyses, air conformity evaluations, and policies and programs for air quality and noise elements to general plans; presentations at public meetings and hearings; business development; diversifying our technical capabilities into other areas, including, for example, health risk assessments and vibration analyses.  Limited to occasional field surveys. Job Requirements: Master's Degree in Science, Mathematics, or Mechanical EngineeringMinimum of 10 years directly related work experience.  Knowledgeable in applying, interpreting, and presenting results from standard air emissions and noise modeling softwate, including CALINE, CAL3QHC, ISCST, and TNM.  The position involves applying model results to reducing/mitigating impacts from project adoption; it is not a research position.  Experienced with applying impact assessment guidelines of California air quality management districts (especially Sacramento, San Joaquin Valley, or South Coast).  Experienced with Caltrans technical studies.
