  The Senior Engineer acts as the team leader on multiple concurrent projects as assigned by an Engineering Department Head . He/she may oversee the entire design process or assist as a technical expert on a specialized design. The Senior Engineer has gained extensive experience in all areas of engineering design relevant to their discipline and demonstrates exceptional leadership ability.

  ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  Prepare engineering studies and schematic design for new systems and analyze operation of existing systems.
Prepare engineering analysis of projects to include: preliminary design, calculation, life cycle cost and equipment selection.
Assign and review work of project design team. Monitor progress of work and alert Project Manager to change of scope or additional services.
Coordinate all aspects of project document completion within company and externally with clients and other design professionals.
Prepare or review budgets based on experience and scope of project.
Promote use of and participate in development of company design and production standards.
Review of construction documents prior to final review by Engineer of Record.
Assist in the education and development of design staff and act as resource for design questions.
Maintain neat and organized work area which allows efficient access to project information required by other team members.

  EDUCATION, SPECIALIZED TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
  Graduate of an accredited university with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. The candidate should be able to demonstrate the following experience: 
  Minimum of 6 years industry experience.
Mechanical Professional Engineer’s license preferred.
Ability to create mechanical designs and calculations for Air and Water Systems, Central Heating and Cooling Plants and Temperature controls.
Thorough knowledge of BOCA and other relevant building codes.
Ability to take a project from concept through construction.
Ability to manage several engineers and designers on multiple tasks.
Ability to effectively utilize productivity software such as MS Office and AutoCAD.

  Preferred 
  Ability to develop presentations and assist with business development efforts.
LEED certification.
