The Senior Control Systems Engineer is responsible for the design of control systems for upstream oil and gas facilities, including crude oil separation and treating facilities, gas compression facilities, gas treatment (including dew-point control and sweetening), gas plants and pipelines.  The Senior Control Systems Engineer works with the Process Engineering Group during the early phases of the project to define the control system philosophy, emergency shutdown philosophy, and relief and blow-down philosophy.  The Control Systems Engineer prepares specifications for the facility control system, communications system, and fire and gas detection system.  The Senior Control Systems Engineer develops the control system architecture, along with control logic diagrams and cause and effect diagrams.  The Senior Control Systems Engineer plays a key role in the development of the facility control room design and layout.  The Senior Control Systems Engineer develops instrument specifications and data sheets, and prepares or supervises the preparation of the Instrument Index and I/O List.  The Senior Controls System Engineer plays an important role in the development of the facility.


Requirements:



The Senior Controls Systems Engineer must be fully conversant with industry standard design codes (API, ISA, IEEE, etc.), and must be familiar with SCADA and DCS systems used in the upstream oil and gas industry.  The Senior Control systems Engineer must be able to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team.

Minimum requirements include:

Bachelors Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience

20 years relevant industry experience

PE Certification is a plus.
