Sr Configuration and Data Management Specialist

This is an excellent opportunity to join our engineering services group in a role that will provide strategic direction for ATK Space Division sites. Alliant Techsystems, Inc., Spacecraft Systems Group, located in Hampton, VA has an opening for a Senior Configuration and Data Management Specialist. This position will involve working with project management at NASA Langley Research Center in support of NASAs Vision for Space Exploration. In this position, you will be responsible for managing project data through the configuration and data management life cycle. Requirements for this position include: - Creating and implementing a Project Configuration and Data Management Plan - Identifying the configuration items to be controlled for each project; Establishing and maintaining the project (document) directory system by ensuring that all documents are delivered to the system in a timely manner - Coordinating project configuration control board activities and recording the resulting minutes and action items - Performing configuration and data management audits - Reviewing contractor configuration and data management plans to ensure compliance - Coordinating all project document releases; Coordinating and preparing data to support major project reviews and providing templates for documents and presentations - Tracking action items for project reviews and technical interchange meetings and maintaining the action item database and metrics. This position requires a bachelors degree in a business field or equivalent with three to five years of configuration and data management experience desirable. A certification in Configuration and Data Management is highly preferred. Excellent communication and presentation skills are vital. This position requires strong organizational skills; a critical eye for detail; excellent interpersonal skills; and an ability to manage and control a large number of internal and external documents in a team-oriented, process flow working environment.
