Software Engineer in TestJob Description:As a Software Engineer in Test, you'll be responsible for testing key Sony device software. Daily work will involve tight collaboration with software development teams, writing test cases, writing test code, writing automation scripts, and reporting defects. The resulting products will enable innovative and compelling experiences for Sony's customers.Job Responsibilities Include: - Write test cases/suites for multi-platform (Linux, PLAYSTATION 3, Microsoft Windows) middleware and applications - Design and implement appropriate test infrastructure, including intensive automation - Craft test automation via Python and other scripting technologies - Perform white box and black box software testing - Report defects; perform regressions as needed - Closely collaborate with development and planning teamsAdditional Requirements: - Experience in a software quality assurance (3+ years) - Strong experience with:   - Linux and Microsoft Windows platforms   - Shell scripting   - Python or other scripting language - Superb communication skills - Experience working within software development lifecycle - Love of solving challenging problems - Product sensibilities - enthusiast with regard to digital media, devices, and related products

Plusses: - Bachelors of Science in Computer Science or a related field - Experience with software development in C/C++ - Experience with simultaneous support of multiple target platforms (e.g. Linux, Microsoft Windows, Apple Mac OS X) - Experience supporting a consumer electronics device platform - Experience with cross-compilation environments - Participation within the open source development community
