Six Sigma Black Belt Engineer
Our Kearney, Nebraska facility has an immediate opportunity for a Six-Sigma Black Belt Engineer. This individual will apply six sigma and lean tools to develop, coordinate and execute continuous improvement activities at all levels and functions of the organization. This individual will facilitate the plant to reduce variation, yield savings, improve quality, meet customers' needs and achieve plant and corporate goals.Responsibilities:Manage assigned Six Sigma projects to completion.Develop, coach and lead cross-functional improvement teams.Train and mentor green belts and team members on Six Sigma tools.Advise the Steering Committee on prioritizing, planning and launching Six Sigma projects.Prioritize projects based on Strategy plans, customer requirements and plant goals.Assure follow-up actions are visual to stakeholders and are driven to closure.Monitor and report on all savings and Six Sigma activities on a monthly basis using the standard reporting template.Assess and report on status to keep projects on track.Identify and remove barriers to success.Work closely with other Six Sigma Black Belts to identify opportunities for Best Practice within the site and with other sites.Assure ongoing Six Sigma training for all employees.Basic Qualifications:Educated to degree level or equivalent. Formal Black Belt certification. Trained in lean philosophy and tools a plus. Self-motivated, must have excellent people skills, written and verbal communication, problem-solving, coaching, training relationship building, technical, managing resistance and project management skills. Must be able to look at the big picture. Proficient in Mini-tab or other statistical software package. A t least 3-5 years experience of successfully applying improvement initiatives using Six Sigma tools preferred.
