Senior Program Analyst (Tissue Banking))

The candidate:* Shall possess a bachelor's degree in biological or physical science, master's degree preferable. * Experience in scientific research settings is required with biomedical laboratory experience strongly recommended.* Ability to comprehend complex biomedical research protocols.* Ability to express medical terminology in lay language.* Must have experience working in an office setting and possess strong interpersonal skills.* Working proficiency in MS Office is mandatory. Database management and statistical programming is highly recommended.* Shall be proficient in English with strong oral and written language skills. * Must possess good oral and written communication skills.* Limited local travel will be required with possible out of town trips. * Must perform assigned tasks under time and location constraints. * Must be able to multi-task and prioritize assignments in accordance to program goals. We are currently seeking Program Analysts to perform the following:* Respond to questions (via phone and e-mail) from the field about tissue banking policies and procedures.* Track tissue banking approvals received from the field.* Maintain tracking system of VA-approved bio-repositories.* Prepare and update .pdf forms using Adobe Acrobat Professional software.* Perform administrative review of off-site tissue banking applications.* Generates reports, presentations and other high-level communications to leadership, other government agencies and field offices. * Assists program staff with administrative responsibilities, including but not limited to generating meeting minutes, meeting summaries and executive reports.* Provides support on existing database and web-based operations for maintaining current and accurate program information. * Analyzes organizational and operational activities to maximize efficiency and develop novel approaches to address needs. : :
