Senior Procurement Manager (08308)

WorleyParsons is one of the world’s largest engineering and project delivery firms, servicing the global resource, energy and infrastructure markets.  WorleyParsons provides engineering, procurement, construction management, program management and consultancy services to clients in the Hydrocarbons, Power, Minerals and Metals and Infrastructure sectors.  We are one of a handful of global companies with the capability and track record to execute large capital projects from conception right through to operation.  We are currently seeking a Project Materials Manager.   DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES   Project materials management activities for procurement of materials, engineered equipment and services, as well as other procurement related duties, including expediting material and equipment deliveries and receipt verification, invoice processing, report status, etc., for new nuclear power projects. Function would involve administration of project procurement activities, including interfacing with Client/Project Manager/Discipline Leads/Engineers in the preparation and solicitation of bulk material, engineered equipment, services, and furnish/install requisitions, resolution of offer per specification, preparation of bid evaluations and recommendations, negotiation of terms and conditions, award of purchase orders, administration of orders, expediting delivery of completed products, any and all as applicable in administration and support of the project’s procurement needs. Involves extensive phone and email communication.  Includes ensuring procurement activities follow proper project and nuclear purchasing procedures, industry standards and ethical purchasing conduct..   Knowledge and background requirements include strong writing skills, very good phone skills, work habits, and organizational capabilities; post secondary school education (business / purchasing / technical degree BA/BS preferred, but AS degree minimum or equivalent experience may be considered); 10 years minimum procurement experience for major projects (nuclear/fossil power plant and/or air quality control project experience required); very good computer skills (Word and Excel required; Access a plus); negotiation experience/skills. Other purchasing experience may be considered (i.e., industrial, heavy equipment/commodities, etc.) dependent upon duties, magnitude of purchases, and duration of service. Experience with Smart Plant Materials (Intergraph software) procurement application, and/or Oracle financial application, preferred. Assignment will require administration and support of  nuclear power procurement efforts located in Wilmington, NC, with possible relocation to new nuclear project site(s) after 2 years.
