About the Position:
The Senior Mechanical Engineer is responsible for design, project management and construction observation of building and facility mechanical systems for a variety of industrial, educational, institutional, governmental and commercial projects. These systems will include HVAC systems of varying types and sizes (including temperature controls and energy management systems), plumbing systems, special piping systems (for hospitals, laboratories, etc.) and fire protection systems. Studies may include: due diligence studies of existing systems, feasibility and conceptual design studies with preliminary construction cost estimates, indoor air quality evaluation studies and utility master plan reports.

Specific Tasks include, but are not limited to: client meetings, project coordination and administration, marketing assistance, system design calculations, layout and equipment selection, editing of technical specifications, performing investigative system analysis, technical report writing, cost estimating, and construction administration.

The candidate must be a PE with a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and 10+ years of experience in the design and analysis of mechanical systems in buildings. Pluses include capability of directing team of designers and less experienced mechanical engineers, understanding of mechanical systems for high and low rise buildings. Candidates should also be able to use AutoCAD 2007, AutoCAD MEP 2007, Revit MEP 2007, 3-D and BIM a plus, as well as have an understanding Florida and International Building Code requirements including provisions for hurricane and high humidity design. Experience with building systems commissioning (Cx) and LEED accreditation is desired. Should be willing to accept out-of-town travel assignments to meet project demands.
