What are the duties of the contractor?Perform thermal, fluid, and structural analyses via hand calculations and finite-element methods; define and execute empirical studies to validate theoretical results; design systems for heat management and dissipation; collaborate with suppliers and manufacturing personnel to ensure cost-effective, producible solutions; specify materials and material joining techniques; prepare technical reports. Preference will be given to applicants having experience with vacuum systems and/or high voltage apparatus. Â Background Required:Minimum Qualifications: M.S. in Mechanical Engineering (or B.S. with 10+ years of relevant experience) Excellent analytical skills FEA experience (COSMOS preferred) Experience with solid modeling (SolidWorks preferred) Familiarity with instrumentation, measurement, and data acquisition systems Excellent oral and written communication skills Pragmatic, results-oriented, collaborative attitude
